Ryan Neale is a dedicated and accomplished baseball coach with a rich history in the sport, having led Watertown Baseball to become one of the leading programs in the region. As Watertown Baseball’s all-time winningest coach, Neale has achieved an impressive 270 wins at the Legion level across eight seasons and 399 wins as a coach in the Watertown program across all levels.   A Watertown High School alumnus, Neale graduated in 2002 and was a two-year starting shortstop for Post 17.

Neale’s coaching career began early, starting with 13-14-year-olds in 2003. He then spent five seasons from 2004-2008 as a student assistant coach at Southwest Minnesota State University (SMSU), where he had the opportunity to learn under legendary coach Paul Blanchard. Neale advanced to the Division I level in 2009 as an assistant coach at South Dakota State University. Returning to Post 17 in 2010-11 and again from 2019 to the present, Neale has since coached a total of 470  games with a career record of 270-220, boasting a 55% winning percentage.

Neale holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from SMSU (2008) and a Master’s degree in Sports Pedagogy from South Dakota State (2011). He also completed the teacher education program at South Dakota State. Outside of baseball, Neale is a PE/Health teacher at McKinley Early Childhood Center and serves as the Assistant Boys Golf Coach for Watertown School District, where he helped lead the team to back-to-back state championships in 2023 and 2024.

Ryan Neale is married to his wife, Crystal, and together they have two daughters, Paisley and Kollins. His commitment to both his teams and his community exemplifies his dedication to developing young athletes on and off the field.
